[Page 1]

Dear Sir

I should more immediately have answered your favor of the fifteenth instant had I not waited with much Impatience the arrival of two cases of dried plants from Bristol.  We broke open our Stores yesterday & I had the satisfaction to find a very considerable part of my Collection particularly ye plants in good Preservation.  I expect two more Boxes from Town which Sr Rt. [Robert] Herries has received for me, to enter upon the Arrangement when I shall with a particular pleasure select what I find among the cases duplicates for my own Collection.  I have not yet had the time to make any assortment of the seeds, but have just taken out a Packet of the seeds of the Cornucopia cucullator, & a new species of Ebenus with a root of the Leontice Leontopetalon [Leontopetalum] & some Bulbs of Liliaceous Plants, to send to my Friend Mr Ayton.  I have taken the liberty to address the Pacquet to Soho Square to be forwarded to Kew.
