[Page 3]

am anxious about the Chest of Drawers for there are so many different Things in it - Natives Birds & Netts &c &c that I shall never be able to gett again - also some descriptions of things by myself.

The Lady Nelson Guns Boats Sails Keells &c &c are just in the same way state as when she left Deadmans Dock [Deptford].  The Keells are all in her yett.   And I have no reason to change my first good opinion of her.  There is one thing I wish much to be home for there is so much nasty Business with the Military;  that It has even found its way into the Criminal Courts of Judicature here.  This you'l hear fully of - I know none so fitt as the present Governor to keep them in Check here, they Teez his Soul out.  The proceedings in Court here; of which I was a member when The Judge Advocate & myself were not [indecipherable] with them; all the rest being Military Officers; has been carried to such a hight that the Governor submits it home to the Secretary of State - and I am convinced what I have above asserted will be found but too True - I refer you to the Documents.

I have the Honor to be with much Respect
your most obedt & much obligd Hbl Servt
