Good Sir,

          I am, this Moment, favoured with the result of Mr. V. Chancellor's Application on my Behalf;  and should, indeed, - had there been a suitable Department, open, in your Retinue - - have thought myself very fortunate in being capable (under your good Direction) of being useful in any Matter, towards the Furtherance and Accomplishment of your great Designs.

          It would -----it is mighty true-----have been advisable, (as the first Step) to have troubled You with an Enquiry or two, regarding the various Expences, attending the proper Equipments for this Affair;  both at the first Offset;  and any future Contingencies that, in the Course of 3 or 4
