The Lady Barlow not having sailed from hence on my return from the Cormathus Mountains gives me an opportunity of sending you a few skins.The Ham which I mentioned in any former letter I have omitted sending as upon examining it I found it to be infested with leopers and the lavae of a fermentis in consequence of which I was afraid it would come to hand in an indifferent state. I own I am much need of being so disappointed -- In view if the ham I have sent part of a flitch of bacon of the same pig which is in an exceeding good state and free from the attacks of insects. I am also sorry to state I had not the opportunity of sending you the whole flitch which I might have done had I thought of sending such a few days before
