No opportunity having happened since the date of the above letter I have been enabled to add considerably to to the list. I was much affraid that the part of the seeds which was collected last year would not arrive in time to be sown this Spring in which case they would have been rather old; but now I am in hopes if the Ship has a good passage they will arrive in time to be Sown. They are contained in two small chests and will be delivered by passenger on board the E: India Company's Ship Princess Amelia. They contain about six hundred articles.
Mr Riou will sail for England in a short time. and as he has promised to render me every service in his power, I shall be able to send a good collection by him.
A party of Boors [Boers] has made a journey into the country of the Capes in order Search (as they say) for the unfortunat people belonging to the Grosvenor India Ship. They have however returned without finding any of them: we have not yet heard the particulars of their journey only one of their Captains fell into a pit (which is dug by the Savages to catch wild animals) and lost his life. Another was trod to atoms by an Elephant which he had wounded.
I am Sir most respectfully
yours.
