On the 4th May 1800 I had the honor to receive your letter of date March 18th 1799.

I am sorry to hear that there are no Nutmeg or Clove plants, in the Royal Botanic Garden at Kew.

In August, and December, 1797, I sent on the Ships Tonton [Taunton] Castle and Bellona, Clove and Nutmeg plants, which were four years old, and well established in the Boxes, but I
