was out fifteen days and the Master of that ship assures me that he saw from ten to fifteen thousand Spermaceti whales in that time. For Nine days together he says he was surrounded by fish, but never could put a boat into the water. The day after he left this harbour in company with another ship they killed Seven, but the gale then coming on they only saved one fish each. The two other ships had run to the Southward to look for Seals and likewise met with bad weather, they did not see any fish but seem to have very little doubt but that they shall be successful, from what the Master of the Brittannia has seen, & they all sail in a few days.
