          I put off writting to the last moment of our departure from hence in the expectation of the honor of a few lines from you, which would certainly afford me great satisfaction after so long an absence, from one whose good offices and disinterested zeal for my welfare, whatever my fate may hereafter be, I shall ever gratefully acknowledge. But I am pretty confident from a circumstance which has come to my knowledge only a few days ago, that the Gentleman who carried my letter to the Post Office at Limerick, about fifteen leagues off, is wholly to be blamed for depriving me of this pleasure from his unaccountable neglect in keeping it in his possession for five days before he delivered it in at the post office.
