I had the honor to write to you twice during our stay at Chili [Chile] the first was by the Light'ning Whaler of Bristol on our arrival at Valparaiso and the other was on our leaving it, which went with the despatches across the Andes to be sent by the way of Spain, both which I hope you have received.
