I stayed at the Peoples Palace last night and was in good time at the depot. By 11.30 I had passed right through the various examinations and taken to have my eyes checked. I was given a pass to Merrigum & 7 days leave. I joined the returned soldiers association & subscribed to the "Bayonet" the organ of the Returned Soldiers Association.
In the afternoon I went out to Brunswick to see the Beans . They were all at home & glad to see me.

A beautiful bright day. The weather has been splendid during the past few days, quite in keeping with all the welcome home coming for the troops. The streets and motor cars for the troops are decorated and great crowds were in the streets when we landed on Friday. Today more troops were landed, amid similar rejoicing.
