My dear Mr Brewer
I was very glad to hear from you & to know that you & your friend had got through the fiery furnace - Indeed one can say - thank God - for spirit, strength, & courage equal to that great test & it is an heritage your dear ones will always prize - to have fought in this war & helped free the world from such evil - is really - as I tell the boys - to feel one is fighting a battle for God & with God & that the issues being in His Hands one can only hold to those Hands - & go ahead fearlessly we used to have a prayer - my village boys sang to a tune I made up -
"Lord grip me tight
And keep me right
And fill me with Thine Own clear Light
For Jesus sake, I pray. Amen
