Rose at 5 AM. Had breakfast at 5.30 & was at the Cairo Railway Station at 6 oclock & had to wait till 7 for the train to Kantara to move out, played bridge till we reached Ismalia with some other Australians I met on the Cairo platform; here I decided to get out to buy films & send a cable, had lunch & put in a couple of hours moping around the town sent a cable from the Railway Station, & readjusted the photos putting them in a smaller
