It rains like fury & I dream all night that I am back at DJones in Sydney to get ballet ticket

Up at 5.15 and Connie Arthurs motors through the beautiful morning air to [Ermanville.] We just catch the mail bus. I have awful seat at times. I tire of opening gates. We pass [Strathboyne] & arrive Rocky Cr. station for change of Horses & dinner. Over to Ramsey's & walk 4½ miles to Spring Vale. We play cards at night when Jack returns from the mine.

Friday 10 September 1920

It rains like fury all day We sit about & talk. In afternoon go for a stroll over the fields towards the gates. We tell Yarns until tea time and play Cards at night. We snap the tame goat on Roy's back and catch tame fowls.
