After being in Australia one month and losing my father I became so disgusted with the apathy of the eligible men who remained here, I determined to again enlist. I spent 5 weeks in camp, was promoted, but illness overcame me and I spent six weeks in hospital and was discharged from the army as permanently medically unfit on 12th July 1917.
