Quiet day, rumours about El-A. again – French gaining big vics at Verdun.
Friday 15th
Papers full of peace proposals, all German bluff – sent a man to Hospital with query throat.
Saturday 16th
Mail day. I did not get an extra big one, one from Sull who is camped at Kantara.
Sunday 17th Dec.
Obtained leave to visit Kantara, arrived there after troublesome journey only to find that Sull had gone to Mazar the previous day, however I spent pleasant day with old mates who all are well, rec. news that Charly Owen an old mate of mine died on his way home to Australia, this leaves me the sole surviving member of the original L.H.F.A. Bearers & Tent Division, on returning my mate met me with my mare at the canal.
