Wednesday 12 April 1916
Relieved from guard at 8 o'clock. Whole camp 1000 men on a route march to Camden about 7 miles away. I managed to get into the mounted Squadron.
Camden is a small town on a hill. Had lunch in show ground.

Thursday 13 April 1916
Fatigue duty cleaning up before breakfast.
Guard instruction all the rest of day.
Heard that the 17th Reinforcements are to sail on Good Friday. Rushed round, put in application for final leave and made allotment papers. Am taking 2/- a day. Father to receive 3/- per day.
