[Middleton was apparently a stretched bearer at this time. These seem to be lecture notes]

Any man feeling collapsed tho' showing no signs of being gassed must rest.
Severe cases will be carried on long stretches, milder cases may be carried to Reg. Aid  P. on trench stretchers
Two types are (1) Collapsed - poor pulse & leaden grey colour (2) blue or cyaustic - full pulse & livid colour.

1)  Give stimulants - external warmth & hot rinks & blanket, if much fluid flowing up through mouth raise foot of stretcher & turn the head pulling sideways. (2)  Blue cases - send to amb first of all.  Keep gravely collapsed patients for a time at aid post
This is a case of extreme gravity and in the event of extra doses being inhaled by the patient it would be advisable to
