23rd - Field Officer - on horse - still rather uneasy

- met 100 men from Cootamundra Camp for Barroul.  wrote J.

24th to 31st

Usual camp work - getting settled down to  the routine

31st - Req. enlisted in "C" Coy 13th. Batn.

1st June: Attended Dinner at Tory's Hotel given by 13th. Batn. Officers to Col. Rourke & Capt Adrian who are just demobilised.

Not impressed with Col. R. as a soldier. Capt. Adrian good routine officer.

Present at Dinner (10/- each) - Col Rourke, Capts Ryan & Adrian. Lieuts Harvey (Adjt) in the chair, QM. Lieuts J Harrison, Pike ("C"  Coy) Maloney "B" Coy; McGuire "A" Coy;  Merrifield, Thornley., Smith, Nugent, Mitchell (13th Mess Secretary, Returned Soldier wounded at Gallipoli), Newman (Doc)., Gibson & self.
