Sept 1917
Wednesday 5th
Payed 15/-. Sports at Herdcot about 2 miles away were marched there. They were very fair but it was hard to get a place where one could see decently.

Thursday 6th
Had a letter from Etty Murray today.

The inoculation dodge worked well had all day off. So have done nothing gracefully. It has been quite hot today Some of the boys gambled by match light untill 12 last night & have been at it most of today They will be broke tomorrow which is well

Friday 7th
Just drill. A very good conjuring entertainment in the YMCA to night
