Sat 25 Aug
Spent a very uncomfortable night only an overcoat for nap. Land was in sight at daylight. About 9 were anchored of Plymouth even quite small sailing boats carry guns & there seem to be crowds of destroyers about. Saw a Seaplane for the first time. No time was lost (considering we were soldiers) in disembaarking. All went in one big Tender & landed right at the train. Got away about 12.30 for Dinton a near Salsbury. It was a very pleasant day for every one. Oldhands & new. The small rectangular fields, some green some white, harvesting was going on in
