more settled. All the officers are suffering bad colds & I don't wonder the weather today is vile, wet & sloppy & the mud is awful. There are not many comforts. You would laugh at me & my four orderlies, I am their Boss & I hate bossing but it has to be done & I do a great rouse now & again. But they are good lads & give very little trouble. We, the two Warrant Officers & another Sergeant have a little Mess to ourselves. They are not bad chaps at all.
