No. 4 - The Beam & the Rafter an Epigram

By Raft the Father got his Pelt
The Son a most presumptuous Elf
has movd us all to Laughter,
For not content with being chose
A main beam of the Citys house
he'd fain be County Rafter.
Spurn him ye Men of Lincoln from your Walls
And turn a deafned Ear if  ___ calls.

No. 5 - A dialogue between Lord Yarborough and Sir Jos: Banks on the first day of the late Lincolnshire Election

1

My good Sir Joseph says my Lord
What is this Silly Banker doing
he puzzles me upon my word,
he takes the ready road to ruin.

2

Thinks he that all the Cash & Notes
he & his Partners can command
if issued out to purchase Votes
will make our Tenants quit their Land.

3

Does he believe our Yeomanry
are Idiots & stupid Knaves
who spite of all propriety
will sell their Votes like abject Slaves.
