Extract of a Letter from the Commissioners of Correspondence of the Bahamas & Mr. Chalmers, dated April 30th 1798.

A supply of Exotics from His Majesty's Gardens in Jamaica and St Vincent's, would be highly acceptable here;  and we have no doubt, but the Soil and Climate of these Islands will be found well adapted to those of the Tropical Regions.  We request you will endeavour to procure Orders on both these Gardens, for as many as they can conveniently spare us;  they may be delivered in Jamaica, and St Vincents & the Gentlemen mentioned in the Postscript of this Letter, to whom you will be pleased to forward such Orders as you may obtain, and we will give Directions respecting the Transportation of the Plants.
