from thence they got to the Port of Kamschatca [Kamchatka], where they procured  a small Vessel, and, sailing to the Northward, made Land, which they supposed to be part of the Continent of North America finding themselves wrong in their tract, they altered their course, and after five weeks sail came to Japan, where they had several skirmishes with the natives.  They afterwards saw the Marian ]Mariana] Islands, and thence bore away directly for Macao, being in great distress for provisions.
