Their Lords of the Commee [Committee] for Coins having therefore beg Leave to Recommend that the offices be Separated and the Salary which is now £132 a year with Subject to Kings Taxes be divided between the Two new appoint appointments, the ir Lords hips of the Treasury will however will Recollect that when the appointments now filld by deputies are Executed by Principels [Principles] upon whom the actual Responsibility will devolve a Considerable augmentation of Salaries will be necessary, of Course that these very inadequate appointments which will not amount to more than £61 for Each officer must be augmented when the salaries of the mint officers are Regulated, a Plan for which will Shortly be Prepard be Submitted to their Lordships.

The Lords of the Commee beg leave to add that in Case their Lordships have not more proper persons to Recommend appoint that it appears to persons advantageous amercement for the office that Lawson Superintendent of machinery Should be appointed to the office of Clerk of the Irons & Benjn Mathews Deputy to the Late R.H. Spencer Percival to that of Surveyor of Meltings, Mr Lawson being Eminently Qualified to Superintend the Die Forging Process which will then be put under his immediate inspection and as his Present office was understood on his appointment not to occupy his whole time, will enable the officer to Profit more by his very valuable assistance which extends to all branches of the undertaking than would be the case if his spare time was to be employd in working for other persons, Mr  Lawson was a Favorite of Mr  Percival & it is out of Respect to his memory that the ir Lords hips of the Commee make this Recommendation.

The Two offices are now held as a sinecure by Patent for Life it is Presumed now they will become efficient that they will be Granted during Pleasure.
