thrown in the way, and this Ship in particular which wants much repair be taken in hand, and if you will condescend to consult with the Officer who will then be next in Command I think I can point out something which may be of advantage to His Majesty's Naval Service at this Port.
I beg to conclude Sir by assuring you on my word and Honor, as an Officer, that I have never opposed your wishes from any view but what I thought my duty and if I have err'd I only want to be convinced to make every Apology that can be desired, but if any explanation is wanting on my part I am willing to give it to any Officer you will honor me to depute which may bring about a reconcilliation for the good of His Majesty's Service and is what I most ardently desire.
