Turkish trenches. The concussion was so great that all our candles were extinguished and the the ground seemed to tremble. Just behind our position here, in a deep gully where the Indian Transport Column had their camp, their mules were kept in wide crevices running into each side of the gully and were well protected. The Turks fire on our aeroplanes every afternoon, but seldom go near them. It was a fine sight watching the dozens of shells bursting in the air.
