Jan. 17 Sun.
Kyarra berthed at wharf at 7 a.m. – Big party commenced to unload stores from holds - Kept pretty busy in Orderly Room. - Saw couple of Scouts on wharf (afterwards ascertained that they were Italian) – Eat large number of oranges which can be bought over the side as well as dates, figs, tomatoes, walnuts, Turkish delight, etc. –
Mixed crowd of curious sightseers watch unloading operations – Finished work at 11.45 p.m.
United States battleship arrived in harbour during day with large number of refugees on board from Palestine.
