Pandanus nuts  Ma-cara

Big round nuts_ grow on tall

grass tree in clusters - green. &

later orange & red - when ready to

fall. When dry the natives cut in

half and find tiny nuts which

they push or pick out of cylindrical

holes. Best from June to September.

Natives eat large quantities

  

Tree nuts? about size of walnut

has tiny nut - dark brown, &  

grows in tree being like ti-tree,  

tall & slender.

  

Ground nuts. Mig-era. from

in swamps. big as a Brazil nut.

no outside shell, brown, black

& white grows in reed like grass

Good tucker - like damper

November - at beginning of [dig?]

season. Natives dig for nuts
