so frightened that he ran into the

grass and hid himself. He said

"I will always be shy and hide, when

I hear anyone coming I will always

run into logs and under rocks, and

the dogs will always find me hiding

I shall live on  mushrooms, beetles,  

caterpillars & plums."

After the Alligator had beaten the Lizard

he dived into the river and swam

to a Pandanus tree and jumped in

on it and said "This is the way.

I am going jump on anything that

comes to the river for drinking whether

they be men, women, wallabys, bandi-

coots, turtles, or anything, you too

Lizard: Ill be after you always. I will

always hit everything wih my tail &

carry them on the back of my neck &

take them to my camp, then when

they go bad I am going to eat them
