My Dear Sir

My letter to you by the Pitt mentioned Burton as well deserving the good Character he had brought with him; he was then employed in marking out grounds for Settlers, a few days would have finished that business, & he was to have had a part of those Convicts who are employed in Agriculture, under his direction; but he unfortunately went out to shoot Ducks, & when standing on the trunk of a tree with the butt of his
