in his majesties name under a discharge of his musquetry & Artillery & to Record the whole proceeding at Length both in his Logbook & his Journal
to Plant such seeds of Fruit Trees & usefull vegetables as he shall be supplied with near to such Commodious Landing Places as he may discover ^ ^ in which a safe & Commodious anchorage & Easy Landing may render it Likely that Ship's may hereafter Frequent & where the Soil appears most Fertile & Productive & to Collect in all Places such seeds of Trees Plants Shrubs & Grapes as he shall find in a state of maturity & Judge to be worthy of notice either from for their beauty their particularity or their Possible utility & to Collect such specimens of Vegetables Animals & Minerals as he shall think likely to prove interesting to naturalists at home
