Another inspection parade at 9.30 a.m. address by camp commandant on "Playing the Game" Washing parade in fore noon. Route march to Etaples & back 6 miles. Etaples a dirty hole, fishing village, inhabitants poor, common & ugly. Squalid & filthy streets stink. Stroll round after tea. meet & yarn[indecipherable] to Gog Aldous Alexander, Piper & Elliot. The latter to be boarded for medically unfit.
