Monday Bank Holiday

Resume duty at 8 a.m. Help carry patients from dressing room to ward all day.
Lieut. Jacka thro' wounded. Another Lieut's steel helmet pierced by bullet. narrow shave. Stream of wounded continue all day. What a price we pay for a few yards of ground. The way to Berlin is literally paved with the bodies of our gallant dead. The horror & awfulness of it all.
