Aug 1917
After many false alarms the Torpedo Destroyers 8 of them – turned up about 2 PM today causeing quite a flutter of excitement We should certainly be safe now allthough I have never felt otherwise No Paraides today. Have just heard that we disimbark at 2 PM tomorrow

Friday 24th
The above was quite out as it is now dark & no land in sight We have put our blanket & hammocks away & will have to scratch for a bed tonight. Have our Kit bags & equipment out all ready for landing Fair sea running today Passed 2 or 3 small boats
