Monday 18th Dec.
Spent day writing letters.
Teusday 19th Dec.
Report came through that man with query throat had Dypheria. I had to isolate all his mates and had busy day throat swabbing etc.
Teusday 19th
Fresh Dyp. case came in to-day with patrol. I am in a dicky position having no Doctor here, however worked like a nig. all day.
Wednesday 20th
Anniversary of evacuation. Officers, N.C.O's and men celebrated it by a wild impromtu night in the mess.
Thursday 21st
Many sore heads about to-day. More regimental promotions. Great news reached the camp that El-Arish had fallen with practically no casualties, enemy abandoned it. Full particulars not here yet.
Friday 22nd
Rode over to regt. to see Doc., he was away, spent day there and just as I arrived home I let Zigi roll after unsaddling and she ran in behind another horse who lashed out and opened up her forearm, bursting an artery I was awfully upset over it but dressed and stitched it up.
