Edinb: [Edinburgh]  21 Jany 1789

Dear Sir

I had the pleasure of your two Letters by the same Post.  I told Mr McLean that his Paper was read at the R S. [possibly Royal Society] but as it wanted some material correction and would be returned for that purpose.  When this was done It would it would probably be printed, and he would receive the Secretarys Letter with the thanks of the Society in form.  In the mean time I return Dr. Blagdens Letter as you desire.
