I have never had the resolution untill this moment to mention him to you, & I am induced to say if you ever have an opportunity to name him it will be gratefully remembered. I beg you will pardon my asking this favor.  I could not have said to [too] much, but I hear there is a great promotion preparing and I think Mr. Bond a very deserving and Zealous officer & I see his old Shipmates & the officers of other voyages promoted. 

We have had such a constant run of East Winds that but seldom we can have communication with the shore. The Road is good & safe for the shiping but with these winds there is scarce any landing, so much sea runs at the [indecipherable] & on the Beach. I had not from this cause got your letter on shore, when to day the 10th the squadron is ordered to sail from information of four Ships of the Line four frigates & 40 Transports having left the Texel.  I fear they will ​be by this time be between Orkney & Scotland, & the Wind is so dead on the Shore that if it continues to blow so hard as it Does altho we are summoned it is a doubt if we can get out.  If possible we shall get away at Day light under the Command of
