Dear Mr. Layton,
Could you assist Mrs. Langhorne who brings this note to you with a little money until her pay comes, she lives with another soldiers wife who has 4 children the youngest a fortnight old & is unable to go out & earn anything for either of them as she has been attended to the mother & the house
Mrs. Bright is the other womans name, I enclose a note from Mr. Alex Sadler who knows the case
