Mr Whitewood Master of The Porpoise now Master of the Elk Brig in the W. Indies.

Mr Mart Carpenter of the Investigator now of the Bellerophon in The Channel.

John Wood one of Capt Flinders boat crew now a prisoner in the Isle de France.

George Alder now a prisoner in Isle de France with Capt Flinders.

All these persons are likely to  Recollect particulars

See Lieut Fowlers Log in the Admiralty possibly he has mentioned this piece of wreck.

(Right side of page)

The first Boat Crew that landed on the sandy Island at Wreck Reef where the Porpoises & Cato's crews afterwards encamped found a few piece of timber which they immediately cut up for fire wood. One of the carpenters who saw it juded [judged] it to be a Part of the Stern post of a Vessel of 400 tons burthen at least in his opinion; it was much worm eaten and no doubt had drifted from some other place possibly from Bamptons Shoals which are directly to windward.

We know no vessel having been lost in these seas except the Pandora which Ran in there on a Reef in Lat 11.S & Long 143 East at the mouth of Torres's Straits

These shoals are exactly in the Fair way from Sydney Cove to chine Torres's Straits the course probably taken by the Porpoise for this is the weathermost Reef in the chain to Leward of Bamptons Shoals.
