The Country through which we have been travelling is most beautiful. It is all undulating, hill & dale the crops & cultivation are splendid. From a hill looking down into the valley the country has quite a [indecipherable] appearance. I have been travelling about in a car. The roads are still in a marvellous state of preservation in spite of all the hard usage. But let me explain the sudden aspect of opulence just on the eve of departure I was summoned to Div HQ to be attached to the general Staff for instruction
