6 The She Oak differs in its quality as it grows either in swamps, or Forests. The size is from 12 to 18 inches, and when larger is invariably shaken in the heart. The Swamp Oak has a more uniform grain and is consequently much tougher than the forest Oak, in ship building it would answer for Scantling. The forest Oak is short grained & the wood is apt to fly, it is used chiefly in Cabinet work, and of both these woods the paling and shingles are made in the Colony.

Mahogany runs good to three feet and by its texture can scarce be known from
