The Friendship and Alexander saild together by the northern passage.  Off Borneo they met with weather so bad that & were so sickly that they were incapable of navigating both ships one of them had then lost 19 men out of 27 they agreed therefore to sink the Friendship & carry the Alexander to Batavia.

There they received all manner of Civilities from the dutch and got fruits.  [Eight?] indiamen that were laying there 2 men apeice with whom they proceeded to the Cape.
