[Transcriber's note: Sapper Vasco of the Field Company Engineers joined the Army on 11 May 1916 and embarked on the Suevic on 11 November 1916. He was a Caricature Artist and Draftsman and there are many of his drawings in the following letters to his wife from England and from France. He died of illness on 3 August 1918 and is buried in Hatfield Cemetery, St. Albans, United Kingdom.]
