By William Bligh Esqr. Captain of His Majesty's Ship Porpoise, Senior Captain of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels employed on the Coast of New South Wales & Capt. Genl & Governor in Chief of the said Colony.
You are hereby required and directed to consider yourself under my Command, to proceed to Port Jackson in New South Wales, according to the orders from my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to you directed to command the Porpoise in my absence, subject nevertheless to my controul [control] and guidance, taking care when we part company with the Apollo or Convoy under which we may sail, to keep so near as will render it impossible for the Porpoise and Lady Sinclair to Separate ; and you are to follow such orders from me by Signal or otherwise as I may give for the good of His Majesty's Service.
Given under my Hand at St. Helens this 15th Decemr 1805.
