His Majesty's Ship Porpoise
At Sea March 6th 1806

Sir,

          Mr. Moor Master of the Fortune one of the Convoy of his Majesty's Ship under my Command having informed me by hailing this Ship on the 27th Ulto. that he was hailed the night before by the Sinclair and ordered to keep in the Commodore's wake I am to request you to send me by what authority you as a Merchant Ship in the same Convoy, had to hail and give orders to another Vessel of the Convoy.  I also desire to know by what authority you hoisted a Pendant off the Lizard as a Merchant Ship under my Convoy.
