Hull May 13th 1805

Dear Sir Joseph

I attended a meeting of Some of the friends & opponents to the improvement of the River Lee [Lea] Navigations at Mr N. Calverts House in Albermarle Street on Thursday last, & I ought to have informed you of the result before this time; but leaving Town that evening with Mr Sherin & being constantly engaged in the Tross business evidence I must place my excuse.

I think I mentioned to you when I had the honour of seeing you last, that I was of opinion an accommodation between the Parties would take place, & that it was probable the Cuts would be given up;-  They have had their effect.  The millers have been alarmed & they have now (Killick excepted who was not at
