Dear Sir
By Mr. Rankin Silk mercer Nº 8 Ludgate Hill I dropt [dropped] you a few lines and by him sent a piece of Breadnut wood for Mr. Franklin which I dare say you received - Agreeable to what I mentioned I also transmitted by Dr. Chas Webster an Account of the Official Plants growing in Jamaica, with Specimens for Dr. Fothergill: He arrived in London about the 30th Septr. and soon afterwards set out for France with a young Gentleman in ill health. I wrote the Doctor the first Week of Octr. but have heard nothing from him since. Dr Solander was present when I was requested by the Medl [Medical] Society of London to write on these and some other subjects, and I will take it kind if he will correct the Errors or supply the defects in the papers already forwarded.
The Papers on the cure of Tetanos [tetanus] &c are ready to send the Doctor so soon as I hear from him, of which I beg you will acquaint him immediately.
