I shall spend some time at Cold Spring, and examine every thing in Flower or Seed. Mr. Wallen is very pressing, and begs to be most respectfully remembered to you.

I told you in my last I had seen Dr Clarke he is in considerable Practice near Bath, has his Salary from the Assembly and I believe as usual does nothing for it.  Dr Lindsay Rector of Spainish-town [Spanish Town] went off in May last, on the Verge of Dropsy.  I have seen him, and he is no less a Blockhead in Botany & Drawing than in Theology, and common sense.

Much as we wanted Peace in Jamaica most People think, the Price of it too high.  However I hope it will be permanent.  Numbers of American Loyalists have found an asylum in this Country.  I am sorry to say they are not in general the most reputable set of Folks.

My Friend Thos Steel Esqr of Trelawny in his Letter of the 29th June tells me he has sent a small Barrell of Cassada Bread in the Susanna Thos Warden Master for London, and advised you thereof.  The Barrell is directed for Sr Jos Banks Bart at both Ends. I hope Lady Banks will get it safe, and receive it as a mark of my high respect for her & you.
