June 23 1802

Sir

Having suffered much for want of labour and being brought to Great Distress whareby I am oblige for to leave my Native town and Wife and Family to the Mercy of the Parich Whareas I have made my Appoligy to your Honour hoping your Honour will Excuse my Freedom at this time but all my hopes Being Over of Geting  Work in my Native Place I have thought of going into Yorkshire to get Labour as my trade the Greater parte of it is taken away by mischanery.

Sir after Being on Board the HM Ship the Endevor Barke with your Honour for three years and upward and being in Great Distress I would Humbly Ask your Honours Benevolance to helpe me on my Journey I served His Majesty Seven Years in the Merican Ware the last five yeares  I was with Sir Charles Saxton
if I had remained a marine as I was wen I sailed with your Honour I Might have got the out Bread but I have no recommend
